however, Thailand still maintained a trade surplus throughout the year. According to the data, the import volume of Thailand in 2019 was US $236.64 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%, and the trade surplus was about US $9.6 billion
Thailand is the second largest economy in Southeast Asia, and foreign trade plays an important role in its economy. In 2017 and 2018, Thailand's total foreign trade exports increased by 9.9% and 6.7% respectively. (end)
